Founding Story
Evan and Alan met in 2015 and worked together at Cloudflare and Segment. In late 2022 they had a nice sushi dinner together and both talked about how they were considering starting a company. Evan called up Alan a month or two later and convinced him to start a company together, and combine their experience in security & data. But doing what? They had no idea...
Having worked at companies that had smooth on-boarding processes, a focus on developer experience, and had the ability to offer a free-tier service, they noticed that this was a rarity in security.
After meeting with several industry leaders, a pattern emerged. They all shared the challenge of handling their security data, collecting it effeciently, and building effective alerts. This gave them the idea to disrupt the existing SIEM category by building a detection product people would truly love.
RunReveal's mission is to make sure no breach goes undetected. That means having a product that is accessible and effective for companies of all sizes.
Our team
We're working to help make security simple. The RunReveal team works remotely from all over the United States. We're a small team of security engineers and developers who are passionate about building tools that make security a little easier.
Evan Johnson
Co-Founder / CEO
Evan's background is security engineering and software engineering at global massive scale. He was previously Senior Director of Security Engineering at Cloudflare where he lead Application Security, Enterprise Security, and Security Automation while being responsible for all software security at the company, and company IAM initiatives.
Alan Braithwaite
Co-Founder / CTO
Alan is a distributed systems engineering expert who built and scaled the data pipelines at Cloudflare and Segment. Alan's experience as a Staff Engineer at Segment and as an early Systems Engineer on the Cloudflare data team gave him the unique expertise on scaling and operating low-latency data pipelines when uptime and reliability are critical.
